LifeWorks NW is Hiring a Data Analyst/Scientist #957 Near Portland, OR

The Data Analyst/Scientist position is responsible for allaspects of data analytics including mining, generation, and visualization. Bytransforming data into readable, actionable reports for continued improvementand growth, this role will contribute to strategic decision making, operationalimprovement activities and organizational alignment. 

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Sylvan Site in Portland, OR.

Pay/Benefits: $71,897 starting annual salary, plus full comprehensive benefits.

EssentialResponsibilities:

  • Work closely with management andinternal teams to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs,including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionableinsights to relevant decision-makers
  • Define andimplement data collection and transformation logic, selecting appropriatecombination of methods and tools to ensure data integrity while optimizingscalability and performance of the solution 
  • Develop and maintain databases byacquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that willmake our data evaluation process more flexible and scalable across data sets
  • Present and explain information anddata, communicating data interpretation and analysis, suggesting operationalimprovements. Communicating informationin digestible and accessible way both orally and written including creating andmaintaining rich interactive visualizations which integrate various reportingcomponents from multiple data sources
  • Interpret and analyze data to discoverdiscrepancies or to identify trends and patterns in complex data sets
  • Build models and analyzing data tounearth trends and patterns to address business opportunities to drive businessperformance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement inefficiency and productivity
  • Uses appropriate software programs andtools, including statistical packages and programming languages to query,process, analyze, and present data and findings including requireddocumentation
  • Understand health care operations andsystems
  • Ability to handle protected healthinformation (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portabilityand Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Exhibits an excellent attention todetail and multi-tasking ability with the capability of working independently
  • Acts professionally with a passion forassisting others and problem-solving
  • Meets performance standards set byassigned project work/objectives and organizational policies and norms.
  • Continually increases level ofcultural sensitivity, awareness and competency.
  • Participates in regular individual andteam meetings with manager; attends trainings, all staff, team, and othermeetings as required. 
Qualifications:
  • Proven working experience as a dataanalyst or similar
  • Preferred experience inclinical/healthcare reporting and analysis 
  • Strong SQL proficiency with theability to learn other analytic tools
  • Technical expertise regarding datamodels, database design, data mining and segmentation
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiencywith reporting packages (Business Objects etc), programming (XML, Javascript,or ETL frameworks)
  • Practical experience in statisticalanalysis through the use of statistical packages (Excel, SPSS, SAS)
  • Strong analytical skills includingcollection, mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization to disseminatesignificant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing andpresenting findings
  • Experience using business intelligencetools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
  • Ability to work effectively on a team,and to work independently with minimal supervision. Selfmotivated. Proven success in a collaborative,team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking andanalytical capability; Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Demonstrates punctuality,accountability, and patience
  • Ability to perform under pressure, beflexible, and effectively manage workload.

  • Organizational agility with the ability to facilitatingcomplex projects and project specific discussions with multiple stakeholderswith diverse professional backgrounds
  • Ability to perform essential functionsof job without creating a direct threat to the safety of self or others
  • BSc/BA in Mathematics, Economics,Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
