LH Services is Hiring a Project Accountant (Hybrid Schedule) Near New York, NY
Headquartered in New York City, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, our Loews Hotels & Co Home Office teams support our properties throughout the United States and Canada. Our talented teams provide guidance over strategic planning, operations, revenue management, communications, sales, development, brand marketing, finance, human resources and information technology. . The Project Accountant will work closely with Home Office leadership in the various activities listed below to continually enhance controls and reporting for Home Office Allocation projects, cost center management, Finance policies and procedures and financial execution, control, completion and closeout of all projects. Job Description: Project Tracking & Accounting (Includes Home Office Allocations, Trade Show Allocations, HR Training Allocations, IT Capital Projects & IT Development Budgets) Effectively communicate with various discipline leaders regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications and approvals Coordinate and manage Purchase Orders/Commitments for contract and other applicable services Coordinate and manage change order requests in Oracle for line level budget changes per policy for capital, operating and development projects Review and approve vendor invoices per established Finance Policy Review and manage Oracle PO Invoices workflow for all project types Manage vendors and contractor relationships as it relates to invoice and payment information; Investigate queries and follow up for timely payment Coordinate with various discipline leaders to close out projects in the project system upon completion Update and maintain Project Final Cost (PFC) Reports for all IT capital projects and IT development budgets Verify all data for accuracy on the PFC Reports Continuously review cost center budgets and keep the division heads apprised accordingly Gather contract-related documentation as necessary (i.e., contracts, certificates of insurance, bid analyses etc.) Support the IT Project Manager in preparation of contracts and supporting documents in pay application review and approval Reconcile Project Balance Sheet Accounts Confirm balances in prepaid accounts and accruals for Home Office Allocations and Capital Expenditures Manage Open PO and Project Close Out Aging report for both Home Office Allocation and Capital Projects Run monthly PFC Report review meeting with project management team Reporting & Month End Journal Entries Prepare daily, weekly and monthly project status reports and exception reporting Provide analytical support to effectively manage IT capital project cash flow and expenditures Prepare monthly reporting for specific cost center expense management, including reconciliation to budgets and forecast Maintain monthly prepaid and accrual files and prepare monthly journal entries for all project types Prepare and submit miscellaneous project costs postings in Oracle Contracts Review contract related Purchase Requisitions submitted to ensure requests follow the Contract and Purchasing Policy Maintain HOA budget change log and facilitate change orders when necessary Maintain Contract Project Tracker Ensure Purchase Order numbers are entered in Docusign CLM Project Management-Oracle Create all Home Office Projects in Oracle based on approved annual budget Create new projects in Oracle throughout the year based on approvals Update project budget in Oracle based on approved change orders Manage close out of all Home Office projects upon completion Monitor payables module and ensure invoice holds/exceptions are addressed on weekly basis Liaison with Accounts Payable and Financial Services Center team members to troubleshoot Oracle Project/PO related questions Other Manage the quarterly SOX certification process Maintain and update SOX control information as advised by Internal Audit team Support Project Accountant I on Centrally Managed Projects Assists with any updates to Loews Hotels Policies & Procedure Manual as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications Understanding and knowledge of basic accounting principles Strong interpersonal and time management skills Results driven; Highly detail oriented with ability to manage large volumes of data Advanced computer skills, specifically in construction management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); Experience with databases Education: BS/BA degree in finance, accounting or relevant/similar Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of project accountant experience Previous experience in Facilities/Construction and/or similar field preferred . Salary range for this position, based on experience, is $72,000.00 to $90,000.00.
