Industrial Vacuum Field Service Technician

Location: Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington)

Remote - Within a reasonable commute or relocate.

Relocation Assistance is available.

This position could require frequent travel dependent upon home location and distance to customer sites within the assigned region. Travel could be up to 50%, overnight, and or for multiple days.

The Field Service Engineer installs, analyzes, troubleshoots, maintains, and services Leybold vacuum pumps and related equipment (mechanical and electrical) in the field. Improve sales of spare parts, service repairs, and other aftermarket services within an assigned geographical territory and at assigned target important accounts.

Conditions of Employment:

• Work with local account managers and service organizations to increase sales of spare parts and aftermarket services of Leybold and Brand X products and help to identify and penetrate new accounts within assigned regions.
• Installs, analyzes, troubleshoots, maintains, and services Leybold pumps and related equipment (mechanical and electrical) in the field.
• Achieve budget goals for sales of spares and aftermarket services.
• Support new product qualifications and installations.
• Provide technical advice, assistance, and product training to customers.
• Maintain relations between the customer and us on field service and aftermarket sales matters.
• Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs.
• Together with sales, identifies areas for product improvement or needs for new products. Maintain historical log of site visits write trip reports and continue to follow-up on activities to ensure customers' needs have been satisfied.
• Assist Sales Channels in selling our products & services by providing technical expertise to prospective and established customers.
• Increase employee's knowledge of Leybold products in facilitating installation, start-up, and maintenance of related equipment
• Help develop additional field service staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• You must submit an OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire and pass a pulmonary function test.
• Could utilize a full-face respirator.Relevant Previous experience
• Associate degree in technical related field and/or equivalent field experienceKnowledge areas/Skills
• 2 years or more of field service experienceOther requirements
• Individuals with vacuum technology experience. (e.g., vacuum systems, turbopumps, dry pumps, booster pumps, leak detectors, rotary vane pumps, vacuum gauges and cryo pumps)
• Individuals who & promote Aftermarket sales and service
• Working knowledge of electronics, electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.
• Demonstrated eagerness to respond to customer requirements.
• Basic working knowledge of personal computer environments (i.e. Microsoft office, etc.).
• Valid driver's license required
• Geographical scope of the role: Domestic Travel, based Northeast US
• Interaction skills required for the role:,
• Internal and external factors which would impact this role: travel, weather, parts availability, etc.
• Pattern of work cycle: travel planning, prioritize work assigned, and no coordinating required.
