Le Chocolat Bakery location is seeking a part-time baker/ cake and cookie decorator to join our team. The candidate must have a minimum of 1 year professional baking and pastry experience!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries and desserts according to recipes and established standards.
- Decorate pastries using various techniques, such as piping and glazes.
- Ensure the quality and presentation of all pastries meet the bakery's standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of pastry ingredients and notify the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in developing new pastry recipes and menu items
-Experience making buttercreams, custards, cake, cookies, etc.
-Cake/ cookie decorating skills; fondant, chocolate, royal icing and buttercream skills
-Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bending, and lifting.
-Must be able to lift up to 50lbs or more.
-Front of house, customer service and interaction is required.
-Food Safe Certified
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a restaurant/bakery or catering setting.
- In-depth knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality pastries.
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in decorating pastries.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely preparation of pastries for service.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
