Latitude is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Washington, DC

Position Overview: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, reconciliation, and compliance, utilizing UKG software to facilitate accurate and timely payroll cycles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of payroll principles, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency in UKG software. The ideal candidate will have a passion for payroll excellence and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Processing:

    • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including data input, calculation of wages, and preparation of payroll reports using UKG software.
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and tax requirements in all aspects of payroll processing.
  2. Data Management and Validation:

    • Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions, in the UKG system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Conduct regular audits and validations to verify the accuracy of payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or errors in a timely manner.
  3. Benefit Administration:

    • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary deductions, in coordination with HR and finance departments.
    • Process employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in the UKG system, ensuring compliance with benefit eligibility requirements and enrollment deadlines.
  4. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

    • Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual filings, in accordance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    • Reconcile payroll tax liabilities, W-2 forms, and other tax-related documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting and remittance.
  5. Employee Support and Communication:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and timekeeping, providing timely and accurate information and assistance.
    • Communicate payroll deadlines, policies, and procedures to employees, ensuring clarity and understanding of payroll processes and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in payroll processing, with proficiency in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve payroll-related issues effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, managers, and external partners.
