About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Finance & Accounting team. This role will be responsible for summarizing large volumes of data in executive summary schedules and reports, developing financial models, engaging in key strategic projects and initiatives, and providing billing statistics and analytical support to the firm’s leadership, attorneys, Finance & Accounting department management, committees, and other firm management as requested, while working in a team environment to complete ad-hoc financial analysis, reports, and special projects related to client statistics and firm financial metrics. This role will be located in our Global Services Office, located in downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Utilizing analytical skills and expert knowledge of business, economics, finance, and accounting to complete complex tasks
• Utilizing Elite financial system and Business Objects to obtain data, organize the information, and build reports to facilitate effective analysis
• Accurately interpreting requests for analysis and reporting to produce appropriate and correct final work product
• Effectively communicating work product to colleagues across the firm through e-mail, phone, web conference, video conference, and in-person presentations, as well as answering any questions that may arise regarding the data, analytical methods, and assumptions used to build the work product
• Making recommendations to streamline workflow and process within the organization, including utilizing new technologies to automate tasks and reporting

• Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills while maintaining a positive, high-energy attitude
• Possess excellent leadership skills including: organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making
• Demonstrate the ability to lead large, long-term, and complex projects from inception to completion, as well as the ability to develop alternative solutions to meet goals
• Possess the ability to work independently to research, analyze, and develop financial information, to draw conclusions from analysis and make recommendations to management, and to learn and apply new skills quickly and effectively

And have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• A minimum of five (5) years of related analytical experience in finance or accounting, preferably at a professional services organization
