Job Description

The Payroll Clerk II is responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll and related information for our Lease Purchase Drivers. This role involves compiling and validating data before entering it into the payroll system. Duties include updating payroll records, conducting fundamental reconciliation and audit procedures per pay cycle, addressing staff inquiries regarding payments, and investigating and rectifying any discrepancies. Additionally, the incumbent is required to undergo training in our Company side of payroll procedures and engage in certain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks.

General Duties

· Maintains LP settlement/ payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.

· Resolves LP settlement /payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

· Provides LP settlement/ payroll information by answering questions and requests.

· Create weekly mileage reports for LP Program drivers.

· Solid knowledge in wage garnishments, i.e., child support, court fines, civil judgments, etc.

· Back up receptionist duties, such as greeting visitors, and answering phones in a professional manner.

· Gathering paperwork from Driver Mailbox daily.

· Prepare and process driver trip packets.

· Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

· Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

· Some AP/AR duties and cross training with other desks.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or Equivalent.

· Competency in QuickBooks, databases and other accounting software.

· High level of confidentiality.

· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.

· Accuracy and attention to detail.

· Excellent math and numerical skills.

· Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.

· Highly motivated and self-driven with good time management skills.
