Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Load Planner to join our team!

The Load Planner is a skilled individual who enhances and streamlines freight transportation procedures. Responsibilities of this role include constructing and overseeing loads in the TMS database to minimize shipping durations, expedite routes, and optimize loads. Moreover, the Load Planner will devise routing strategies and communicate load plans to drivers, providing details like weather conditions, alternate routes, fuel stops, and delivery instructions. You will be a part of a team that updates all daily in transit loads within the company, giving timely updates and concerns for any immediate necessary fixes to your operation team. Strong verbal and written communication, customer service proficiency, effective multitasking skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced office setting full time are essential for this role. Must have the ability to remain focused and organized and the ability to critical think and double check your work, with the ability to quickly adapt to an ever-changing workflow. The goal every day for our team is to ensure the smooth operations of the product from point A to point B. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

General Duties

· Maintain and communicate freight loads to drivers, providing routes, stops, and general pickup and delivery details.

· Enter load information and instructions into dispatch software.

· Obtain directions to shippers and consignees and enter directions into dispatch software.

· Interact with customers and drivers in a polite and professional manner.

· Track drivers and loads and make sure they deliver in a timely manner.

· Analyze and evaluate data to ensure accuracy of loads.

· Monitor loads in transit, troubleshoot and foresee delays in delivery of customer orders (weather delays, loading delays, highway closures) and updates operations team.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant HOS /DOT regulations and company policies.

· Works as a team to maintain driver satisfaction and tractor utilization.

· Provide support and back-up duties of administrative and system support tasks in the department and team.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 Year of Freight Dispatching and Freight Brokerage experience preferred.

· Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

· Strong Team Player with the ability to act in a professional manner.

· Have knowledge of Federal DOT regulations.

· Highly motivated with good time management skills.

· Computer, Phone and Email Skills

· Familiarity with North American highway systems and general Geography.
