Summary The Engineering Intern contributes to the overall success of Langham Logistics by assisting the Engineering Department with cutting-edge projects, research and data analytics that will help to develop and implement efficiencies in the operations.
The Intern will collaborate with the Engineering team to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in a dynamic and supporting environment. The intern will assist with different functions in one or more of our facilities, that include Life Sciences, Cold Chain, Automotive, Ecommerce, and Business to Business distribution.
The Engineering Intern will also gain experience to understand the principles of pricing models that are built from data out of the Labor Management System (LMS).
As part of the internship, the student will understand the benefits of technology and how it is changing the Supply Chain Industry; understanding how new technology helps create efficient operations though Robotics, Co-Bots, Pick to Light systems, Voice picking and RF picking, which are all technologies Langham Logistics is investigating or using.
Evaluation of Performance
Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position as part of the internship program; working according to specifications, policies, and standards established by Langham; working effectively in a team environment; and providing a high level of internal and external customer service.
Key Outcomes Expected
• Assist with the design and development of engineering projects under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Conduct research and collect data to support engineering activities and decision-making
• Participate in prototype testing and troubleshooting, documenting results and findings.
• Help prepare and update project documentation, including reports, diagrams, and presentations.
• Learn and apply company engineering standards and practices to all tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, warehousing and quality assurance.
• Utilize and become proficient with engineering tools and software for simulation and design tasks.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings, providing input and suggestions for improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of process improvements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in all engineering environments.
• Perform calculations and preliminary data analyses to support design work.
• Gain hands-on experience with engineering equipment and hardware.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development related to the engineering field.
• Provide administrative support to engineering teams as needed, such as data entry and file organization.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure alignment on project goals and progress.

Experience and Education
• Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design or related field
• Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate preferred, but not required)
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, & Outlook
