Description

Job Summary:

The Student Support Specialist provides the initial point of contact for students and guests visiting or calling Lancaster Bible College. This position is responsible for facilitating student access to key campus services, in the areas of student billing, financial aid, and Registrars Office.

Department: Solution Center

Reports to: Student Support Supervisor

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • The ability to create and maintain a Christian professional atmosphere in all internal and external relationships.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree and/or two years experience in a business office preferably in an academic setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizations skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment.
  • Self-starter, flexible and able to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to meet common goals.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to generate and/or download reports and files
  • Demonstrated competence with software
  • Ability to calculate balances and percentages

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests and direct them within the campus community.
  • Respond to incoming Solution Center phone calls/email/text/in-person requests.
  • Answer common student questions in the areas of billing, financial aid and registration.
  • Update student account information, as needed.
  • Assist in other duties whenever called upon, as needed for the good and welfare of the total college ministry.
