Lake Trucking is a national leading transportation company established in 1961. We specialize in highly perishable and refrigerated products. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This includes reconciling accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and providing financial guidance and advice. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for monitoring and implementing internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation of accounts and preparation of supporting journal entries

• Process accounts payable and receivable

• Ensure accuracy of sales tax filings

• Monitor and maintain internal control for credit card processing

• Prepare and file sales and highway use tax

• Collect outstanding receivables and research claims

• Issue and maintain fuel cards for drivers

• Post receivable payments

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 2 - 3 years of Accounting or Finance experience

• QuickBooks experience a plus

• Advanced knowledge of GAAP

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and with a team

• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
