We have a Director of Human Resources opening for our National Operating Center in St. Petersburg, FL. This position will report to the Vice President of Human Resources for SalonCentric and is responsible for supporting our team of approximately 300 SalonCentric Corporate employees. This includes Digital Marketing & E-commerce, Partner Brands Supply and Demand Planning, Education, Sub-Distribution, Finance, Compliance, Credit/Collections, Pricing, Business Analytics, Marketing, Public Relations, Information Technology and Facilities Management.

This position will ensure alignment of the Human Resources strategy and initiatives with all business objectives and serve as a source of guidance, direction and career planning for employees and leadership.


Responsibilities include:


  • Recruitment – In collaboration with Talent Acquisition, participate in interview process for key positions and make recommendations for final decisions
  • Employee development and performance – Partner with leaders and employees in the career development process by providing coaching and counsel to unlock performance and potential. Manage and provide guidance in all employee relations issues.
  • Succession planning -Lead the Talent Review process for the DMI team. Liase with global counterparts to ensure alignment on strategies and objectives.
  • Organizational design effectiveness - Understand business objectives and implement organizational improvements while developing PPD as a #GreatPlaceToWin
  • Workforce planning and headcount management - Perform analysis of current structure and make recommendations continued efficiency while managing financial parameters.
  • Retention strategies - Analyze internal and external data to make recommendations on retention strategies for key talent.
  • Employee engagement – partner with executive and brand business leaders to improve and maintain strong employee engagement as measured by Pulse surveys
  • Direct day-to-day Human Resources department including activities and events that positively influence employee morale and productivity and support the desired culture and business outcomes.
  • Manage the performance evaluation process, annual year-end review process, annual benefits enrollment, succession planning programs and initiatives, as well as affirmative action and diversity, equity and inclusion plans.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate governmental and legal regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Act as liaison with Corporate Human Resources on projects as directed by Human Resources senior management and implement new or revised HR programs at the facility level in accordance with the established HR strategy.
  • Participate in other special assignments as directed by Human Resources senior management.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 10 years of diverse and progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity dealing with complex business and Human Resources issues
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with sensitivity to confidentiality
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer proficiency required, including MS Office and SAP Success Factors
  • Fluent bilingual communication abilities a plus (English/Spanish)
  • Very strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% and work weekends as necessary to attend and participate in divisional and/or industry meetings and events
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and consult with a wide range of management and employees for success
  • Competent and thorough investigative skills with attention to detail to derive solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to actively engage employees and leaders in creating a positive morale and culture
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements
