KVC Health Systems is Hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor Near Saint James, MO

KVC is seeking to employ an Accounts Payable Supervisor with a hybrid schedule, comprising 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Minimal travel is necessary to collaborate with other AP team members stationed in St. James, MO, Olathe, KS, and St. Louis, MO.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Manage all activities in the accounts payable function to ensure all invoices and vouchers are properly coded, vendors paid timely and maintain accurate records and controls

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required two years of experience in an accounts payable/accounting role, preferably including one year in a supervisory role.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Three or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years of professional experience working in the field
  • Experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environment

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Required tasks:

  • Manage all activities in the accounts payable function to ensure all invoices and vouchers are properly coded, vendors are paid timely, and maintain accurate records and controls.
  • Review and approve payment processing and, if necessary, code and review invoices.
  • Research and respond to vendor, staff, and subsidiary questions.
  • Maintain vendor data, W-9’s, and prepare annual 1099 reporting.
  • Maintain unclaimed property and reporting to the state.
  • Manage the setup and maintain approved vendors and complete credit applications.
  • Ensure project/department milestones/goals set by management are met.
  • Work with management to review policies and procedures to automate and maintain process improvements.
  • Assist with any audit requests as needed.
  • Exhibit knowledge to competently and accurately examine, process, and maintain approved leases, contracts, and other financial documentation.

  • Supervise, mentor, and train Accounts Payable staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
  • Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
    Expected Behaviors:
  • Assist with any audit requests as needed.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Outstanding computer skills with practice management system, other billing software, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
