- Gather and verify client invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
- Maintain accounts receivable records, documenting credits and collections applied
- Researching partial payments and uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
- Perform daily cash management duties accurately
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail with a professional demeanor
- Support other accounting and finance team members with additional tasks as assigned
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Highly organized, able to prioritize work assignments and multitask
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy in work product
- Experience accounting software a plus (firm software is Aderant)
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working collegially with clients, attorneys, and staff
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with relevant experience required
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, preferred
- Relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping or cash management preferred
- Experience in a law firm preferred
