Kustom US INC.- Experience That Builds Trust!Kustom US is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager. The A/P Manager will ensure that the A/P department operates smoothly, maintains accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers, lenders, and employees. This role will hire, train, and support A/P department staff. Additionally, the A/P Manager will serve as a liaison between the A/P department and internal/external parties including vendors, suppliers, employees, sites, and government agencies.
Core Responsibilities
  • Manage team productivity, accuracy and quality in processing vendor invoices and payables.
  • Provide accounting assistance to employees related to vendor invoices and payment processing research.
  • Develops and maintains written payables policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates accounts payable activities for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Investigate and handling of complex invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and complaints.
  • Ensure all vendor inquiries and statements are reviewed/addressed in a timely manner.
  • Manage and process the month-end and year-end closing, which includes 1099.
  • Provides exceptional leadership and leads resolution of escalated payables customer service issues.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Hires and trains new accounts payable team members.
  • Enforces internal controls and ensures compliance for all accounts payable related activities.
  • Reviews, approves and/or supports the preparation of accounts payable related accruals and reconciliations to the general ledger.
  • Initiates and promotes continual process improvements within the accounts payable department and implements changes leading to best-practice operations.
  • Enter a variety of invoices including service invoices, inventory purchases and pre-paid expenses/purchases.
  • Oversee vendor setup to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor status of invoices in TimberScan and follow up on past-due invoices.
  • Record all cash management entries to prepare for bank reconciliation.
  • Verify payments before EVP signature is added by reviewing checks.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Supervises all regular duties associated with the preparation, generation, and distribution of vendor payments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with 3-4 years of experience in accounting preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related programs.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must show timely, accurate and detailed follow-up with assignments.
  • Must demonstrate ability to prioritize multiple work assignments based upon company needs and manage time to complete those assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
  • Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and train staff.
