Kratos is seeking aiSr. Software Development Engineerfor our Federal Software Engineering team. The position will support dynamic, agile projects implementing software defined radio waveforms to include all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the tactical radio and satellite communications domain space.i

This candidate must be self-motivated, be a self-learner, and able to work well within a dynamic schedule.

Candidate must show ability to effectively communicate with various team members, as well as communicate with vendor support. Candidate must be able to leverage modern industry standard technologies in the engineered solutions and quickly and efficiently generate estimates and status of design efforts, including materials (such as presentation slides), for use internally as well as externally with customers.

Position is contingent upon successful contract award.

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or engineering equivalent
• 5-8 years of job-related experience
• Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years (ideally 8 years) technical experience and possess a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or engineering equivalent. MS in above fields is a plus.
• The successful candidate must have advanced industry software development experience in order to be proficient in the following:
• C/C programming (including real time, embedded systems for wireless communications) on Linux platforms
• Batch File, Windows Script File, Unix Shell Scripting, Python Scripting
• Basic understanding of relational database applications and creation of expressions using Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Ability to design solutions to complex engineering problems
• Applicant selected must be eligible to obtain a government issued security clearance at the SECRET level.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Comprehension of SecDevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Development with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Docker, and Kubernetes)
• Experience with agile development methodologies and management tools
• Experience with Atlassian suite of CM tools or similar
• SDR Experience

Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000
