Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (Non COHN-S) to support KDS and our government customer in Laurel, MD. This position requires you to be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Work Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (remain flexible) Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure the optimal performance of the health, with emphasis in customer service, continued quality control and improvement, and strict adherence to established procedures and program requirements.
  • Respond to emergencies and occupational injuries and illnesses and provide treatment according to standing orders and provide initial care to the injured worker.
  • Input information into agency EMRS in accordance with agency polices.
  • Respond to exposures to biological and/or chemical hazards during working hours.
  • Provide travel medicine support for work-related international travel.
  • Administer medications according to policies and procedures.
  • Provide physical examinations and physicals.
  • Provide laboratory support services including, but not limited to, phlebotomy services, processing of body fluids for laboratory testing, serum storage, shipping and receiving of body fluids for specialized testing at facilities in other states and tracking and recording laboratory test results.
  • Administering the Vision Protection Program, including, but not limited to, providing vision screenings and eye examinations.
  • Provide preliminary or palliative treatment of medical conditions for which the employee would not normally seek the attention of a personal physician to enable the individual to complete his or her current work shift more comfortably.
  • Provide immunization services. These immunizations include but are not limited to: anthrax; hepatitis A and B viruses; human papilloma virus; influenza viruses; Japanese encephalitis virus; measles, mumps, and rubella viruses; meningococcus; polio viruses; rabies virus; tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis; tick-borne encephalitis virus; typhoid; vaccinia viruses; varicella-zoster virus; and yellow fever virus.
  • Administer medications by injection as prescribed by a personal physician, such as B12 shots.
  • Offering special health and wellness promotion/screening programs.
  • Audiometry Exams
  • Respiratory Clearance Exams
Minimum Requirements/Knowledge/Skills:
  • Licensed: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or a multistate compact license
  • At least three (3) years of post-graduate clinical experience as an RN providing direct patient care.
  • At least three (3) years of clinical experience in Occupational Health, Preventive Medicine, or Public Health experience is preferred and will be considered a strength.
  • Current certification in BLS for healthcare providers
  • Experience performing occupational health exams preferred.
  • Experience providing vaccines/immunizations preferred.
  • Graduate from a National League of Nursing accredited school (Diploma, AD or BSN)
  • Pre-employment background check mandatory
  • You must have the ability to pass a Tier 4 investigation and a Public Trust
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
