About the Position:
  • We are looking for an experienced (at least 10 years) Nurse Supervisor to assist with supervising our field staff. We envision our Nurse Supervisor as dedicated to supporting our healthcare professional team in the field so they can confidently be the best nurses and therapists in the world for our clients.
  • Working with our office staff to build up our business.
  • This position will be housed in our Laurel office, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM (with a one-hour lunch).

Our Administrative Nurse Supervisor will be spending their time reviewing charting notes, keeping in touch with the Home Care staff, arranging for development opportunities for them, and ordering the field staff’s supplies for the best patient care. This is the perfect position for seasoned pros ready to get off their feet, happy to impart their wisdom and spend their days focusing on supporting fellow healers, our patients, and our family-owned small business. We will train you in exactly what is happening in the field so that you are fully aware of what all clinicians are expected to do.
The Job Description:
The Administrative Nurse Supervisor will supervise the hiring, training/developing, and directing staff in the provision of the agency service, chart audits, and filling functions in compliance with agency policy and procedure, state regulations, and physician’s orders. The ANS watches over day-to-day operations and all field staff (RN's, LPN's, PT's and PTA's, OT's and COTAS, CNA's and HHA's.) Our ANS is required to occasionally pitch in and take over several visits in the field should the need arise. The ANS works cooperatively with all office staff to ensure excellence in all business operations. Previous supervisory experience is very important. 
Duties:
  • Quality assurance including reviewing charts and notes.
  • Staff education and in-services
  • Staff preparation for the OASIS.
  • Oasis knowledge to include hands-on experience with a review.
  • Periodically substituting for RN in the field when needed.
  • Expertise in phlebotomy (blood draws for labs).
  • Monitoring visits live with nursing staff two to three visits a week in total.
  • Manages or resolves escalated and elevated concerns and issues.
  • Manages the quality and timeliness of daily functions through assisting with scheduling, monitoring attendance, and supervising assigned staff.
  • Supports clinical billing leadership.
  • Contributing to and supporting the daily operations, from the initial intake process to the discharge process.
  • Participating in the development of administrative policies and procedures relating to our services.
  • Working knowledge of the concepts associated with Performance Improvement.
  • Consult with physicians in matters relating to client care services.
  • Assist with the interviewing and hiring processes of Field Staff clinicians including selecting, interviewing and working with HR to develop offer letters and provide contracts. 
  • Conduct the initial orientation and onboarding of new field staff
  • Participate in the complaint resolution process.
  • Supervise and provide educational resources to clinical staff. Implement skills education for the clinical staff in accordance with agency needs.
  • Ensure that employee skills assessment checklists are updated and skills are demonstrated for accuracy during the supervisory visits.
  • Maintenance of clinicians' records of vaccination requirements, and license expiration dates.
  • Operations are conducted in accordance with our accrediting agency and the agency remains in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Go into the field and substitute for a nurse in the field when needed 
  • Definitely host virtual staff meetings (huddles) daily (10-15 minutes)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualities:
  • Self-motivated, proven communication skills, assertive.
  • Generous with supportive encouragement for our clinicians.
  • Background in business planning, and targeted outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of managed care, inpatient, outpatient, and the home health continuum, as well as utilization management and case management.
  • Provide leadership in promoting and maintaining standards for providing high-quality care to our patients.
  • Responsiveness to patient/clinical inquiries.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Fair understanding of the issues related to the delivery of home health care services and being able to problem solve.
Nurse Supervisor Requirements:
  • A valid RN license.
  • A Master of Science in Nursing is preferred, bachelor's acceptable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in nursing.
  • Experience with supervising
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly listening skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Patience, a good sense of humor, and a value for a harmonious workplace (no drama).
  • Willingness to help staff in the field when occasionally needed (very rare - but when it happens, please be ready to pitch in and make it be "no big deal").
  • Current CPR certification.
  • ER/Med-Surg experience preferred.
  • A deep-down desire to coach and support our field staff to do their best and stay connected.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite.
