Human Resources Associate Position _Knapp Center

The Human Resource Associate will have a broad spectrum of daily functions and responsibilities of managing employment processes and endorsing company policies and procedures.

We are looking for a skilled Human Resources applicant who will work with our Human Resources Generalist to recruit, support, and manage the Center’s employees through developing and implementing policies and managing procedures. You will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as credentialing of staff and will contribute to making the company a better place to work by arranging company-wide soft benefits such as food trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, work assessments, and behavioral analytic position responsibilities for all new and current employees. This may include professional licensures, insurances, exams, and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; completes onboarding for new hires, to include enrollment into payroll, health insurance and tracking system; creates and organizes materials for and implements new hire orientation.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and attendance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; works with director on policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains organization of employee personnel files.
  • Plan, organize and support employee engagement, team building and community philanthropy.
  • Works with staff to maintain credentials.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned by the director.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience within a Human Resource position.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office / Teams or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS.
  • BS/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Studies or relevant field
  • HR Credentials (SHRM or PHR) a plus
