About the Company
One of the largest Heavy Civil Contractors in New York City is looking to add to their Estimating team. The company has an annual revenue in excess of $500 million per year and is involved in a wide range of projects ranging in value up to $1 billion.
They are operational in 10 states throughout the United States and have an excellent pipeline of projects working with public and private institutions. This includes major utilities, private developers, and government entities.
They are seeking an estimator with a background in civil construction who is looking to progress and grow into a senior-level position.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant and qualified subcontractors.
- Solicit subcontractors for bids and evaluate bids for accuracy and pricing.
- Involvement in take-offs for equipment and materials, monitoring costs.
- Review bidding documents.
- Assist in opportunities for project buyout.
- Periodic site visits to assess conditions.
- Supporting the Chief Estimator on a day-to-day basis.
Experience Required
- At least a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar related field is preferred but not essential.
- At least 2 years of experience working as an Estimator/Field Engineer with a civil construction contractor, General Contractor, or Owner's Representative.
- Good negotiation skills and knowledge of construction contracts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in public works is preferred.
- Experience with HCSS HeavyBid is preferred but not essential.

Salary: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
