OUR ENGINEERING TEAM 

The Whistle Engineering team is responsible for managing and maintaining the iOS and Android applications, backed by our internal APIs. Our goal is to help everyone pet parent like a pro by providing outstanding experiences that provide insight to the health, well-being, and location of the user’s pet. 

HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

• Create management, communication plans and processes.
• Analyze and develop procedures for management and technical duties.
• Define project responsibilities with stakeholders.
• Support technical leads on how resources are allocated for the project.
• Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports.
• Perform SCRUM ceremonies

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Lead technical projects from conception to implementation.
• Comfortable with defining development processes that would enable efficiency and high deliverability.
• Supervise development and ensure that deadlines are followed.
• Maintain the project deliverables while assessing timeline/resources and scope constraints.
• Prepare progress reports for senior management.
• Oversee the implementation of project improvements.
• 5 years of experience in project management. 
• Attention to detail.
• Comfortable with both software and hardware product development practices.
• Solid communication tools with business as well as technical audiences. 
• Able to write clear and concise documentation, excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Excellent skills from problem-solving to communication and presentation.
• Experience with Jira and roadmap tools to plan and manage projects, epics, stories and tasks.

NICE TO HAVE

• A degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
• A proven track-record of successfully working in a fast-paced environment with resilience to evolving priorities and navigating with grace and flexibility.
• Experience in PetCare, Wearables, Consumerized Health, Paid Consumer Services desired.
• SCRUM certification

COMPENSATION

The Portland, Oregon base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Total compensation will include bonus incentives and benefits. Kinship provides Full Time Employees (Associates) benefits which may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for Mars discounts, unlimited paid time off and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for Kinship benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Kinship Benefits plan at a person’s date of hire.
