VanderHouwen is Hiring a Project Manager Near Portland, OR

Project Manager
Our client is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to provide project management for significant projects, including the Identity Management System Replacement and other assigned projects which require management and are unable to be managed by IT Project Managers due to workload constraints.
This position is onsite in Portland OR, remote work possible for portions of the project with approval from manager.
Project Manager Responsibilities
Manage complex capital and operating IT projects by developing and managing project plan, covering the major items of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
Manage project support and implementation teams, including internal support and consultants.
Coordinate and report project updates, including costs, and risks, issues, and impacts to project sponsor(s) and stakeholders.
Assist with the preparation for capital improvement and operating projects, developing the work scope, schedule, budget, justification, and marketing efforts related to obtaining funding approval.
Manage consultant selection processes and contracts, including those requiring commission approval (as needed).
Project Manager Qualifications
Education: BS in the field of Information Technology (IT) or Management Information Systems (MIS). MS preferred.
Experience: 5-8 years’ experience in the management of complex IT capital and/or operating projects within established cost, quality, scope and schedule parameters as an IT systems and/or applications analyst; experience with project and portfolio management tools and systems preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Airport experience, especially related to security systems is desired.
License and/or Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred).
Demonstrated skills: Demonstrated IT project management skills and expertise; demonstrated leadership, judgment, and technical competence; project management and organizational skills; promotes safety as a guiding principle and a regular practice in accomplishing work; focuses on safety improvements and complies with safety and health policies and procedures; shows the utmost respect for others and is a proven team player.
Ability to: Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders; speak to management groups presenting information in a clear and concise manner; motivate and organize multidisciplinary technical project teams; obtain security badging at PDX and/or other facilities, which may require a criminal background check; demonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and passion for being inclusive.
Salary: $40-$60/hr. (DOE)
