Job Title: Night Auditor

Job Summary

• The Night Auditor is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work as well as all Front Office functions on the third shift.

Job Responsibilities

• Registers guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner using up selling techniques to maximize room rates; prepares for group check in and out and VIP arrivals; becomes informed of events/functions in the resort during the shift.
• Checks guests out of the hotel; processes customer payments according to established policies and procedures.
• Responds to guest requests promptly; promotes resort services, facilities and outlets; provides guests with information such as local attractions and directions to increase satisfaction.
• Resolves minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer, informs supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests.
• Books guest reservations or coordinates with reservation center.
• Handles departmental accounting of monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit; posts all charges; completes cashier’s report, prepares deposit and counts cashier bank.
• Issues, controls and releases guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Respond quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and appropriate action is taken. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Initiate and complete the End of Day process.
• Run all reports as required.
• Complete the nigh audit checklist and balance the day’s work.

Qualifications

• Position requires flexibility in scheduling including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Must have attention to detail, strong ability to multi-task, and time-management skills
• Front desk and/or Night Audit experience of at least 1 year is required; luxury resort/hotel experience is a plus.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Light work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to complete repetitive motions throughout shift such as reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, etc.
