Job Summary

• Provides prompt and courteous food and beverage services to restaurant and banquet guests while maximizing sales and guest satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Describes all menu items; methods of preparation and prices as needed.
• Accommodates any special requests that the kitchen is able to deliver for a guest.
• Up sells established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
• Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to established service standards.
• Performs pre- and post-shift side work including stocking service station, makes coffee, etc.
• Processes customer payments in accordance with established method.
• May assist Host/Hostess with greeting and seating guests; may assist dining room assistants/bus person with clearing tables and filling glasses.
• May cross train for banquet service.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• ServSafe or SafeServ Certification
• Alcohol Awareness Certification
• Basic reading skills and basic oral proficiency in the English language.
• Basic mathematical skills are used when completing customer payment transactions.
• Position requires full flexibility in scheduling to work AM/PM, weekends & holidays, and may be asked to work overtime in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
• Must be able to provide prompt and courteous service to restaurant/banquet guests
• Position requires a significant portion of the time speaking, listening, walking, standing and carrying.
• Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employees.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized frequently and documenting a guest’s order, reading the menu, or when processing customer payments.
• Reasoning, problem solving, and organizational abilities are used often.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires a vast majority of time spent servicing the menu items, which is typically done while standing up and walking.
• Be able to carry, lift, and push items up to 75 pounds, frequently
• Be able to work in a hot, cold, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
