Job Summary

• Prepares beverages and serves food for the customer in a prompt and courteous fashion while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency to ensure guest satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Greets guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promotes house drinks and food items; utilizes up selling skills whenever possible to maximize revenues.
• Prepares beverages requested by customers or servers according to standard operating procedures establishing proper proportions and ingredients to control costs and provide a consistent product to the guests.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas to maximize efficiency; sets up the bar and back bar according to established procedures.
• Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers.
• Checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable; follows state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Verifies liquor inventory; correctly completes all requisition requirements and stores stock as per approved procedures. Obtains, counts and secures bartender’s bank; distributes and collects bar servers’ banks; documents cash distribution in register drawer.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides a professional image at all times though appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned as business demands.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 years’ experience, preferred.
• ServSafe or Safe Staff Certification.
• Alcohol Awareness Certification.
• Basic reading skills and basic oral proficiency in the English language.
• Basic mathematical skills are used when completing customer payment transactions.
• Position requires full flexibility in scheduling to work AM/PM, weekends & holidays, and may be asked to work overtime in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
• Must be able to provide prompt and courteous service to restaurant/banquet guests.
• Must have good communication skills due to a significant amount of time will be describing menu or cocktail items, talking with guests or staff, and giving instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires a vast majority of time spent servicing the menu items, which is typically done while standing up and walking.
• Be able to carry and lift items of up to 50 pounds (i.e. plates, utensils, trays, tables) frequently.
• Must be able to push or pull a portable banquet bar.
• Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employees.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Be able to work in a hot, cold, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
