Kind Behavioral Health, a leading provider of Applied Behavior Analysis services, seeks to hire a Chief People Officer to lead the oversight, evolution and execution of our human resource functions. Description:

We are looking for a Chief People Officer to lead and scale our People (HR) function. This role will report directly to the CEO and partner closely with our senior leadership team. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving operational excellence and supporting key initiatives across the company with a focus on enabling strategic outcomes. This is not just an operational role; there will be a large amount of change management involved as existing processes are simplified and automated and new processes are brought to life, all in service of delivering a best-in-class employee experience, to in turn enable exceptional outcomes for the clients and caregivers we serve. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape delivery of core lifecycle processes, end-to-end talent attraction, employee relations, policy and compliance; as well as partner with our other leaders to drive the People strategy. You will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all people-related programs/services and work collaboratively with stakeholders to define and collect input on how to deliver key processes and metrics that reliably measure employee and organizational outcomes.

What You Will Do Here:
  • You will provide strategic leadership for the operation and expansion of all people-related initiatives focused on the attraction, development, engagement, incentivization, and retention of our employees.
  • You will identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience across the full employee lifecycle, optimize people processes, and make informed decisions using a data-driven approach.
  • You will build and lead a high caliber People team, including setting priorities, providing guidance and feedback on progress, and fostering team career growth.
  • You will align the People team’s KPIs to match the most critical business initiatives that create value for all stakeholders.
  • You will, independently and in partnership with other teams, provide direction to build and implement effective, efficient, consistent, and scalable operational processes. 
  • You will lead development and implementation of employee relations policies, programs, and training; ensure updates and revisions are consistent with changes in laws, regulations, best practices and company culture.
  • You will partner with the head of Talent Acquisition, one of your direct reports, to build interview and candidate process flows that drive a consistently high volume and strong quality of candidates through those processes
  • You will champion the onboarding process for our high volume of new team members in partnership with training teams, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision
  • You will elevate and expand upon our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring we provide a work environment where all feel safe and supported to thrive
  • You will partner with the clinical and operations leaders to create and roll out best-in-class training and development programs for our clinical and non-clinical team members
  • You will investigate and resolve complex matters that arise regarding policies, processes and practices.
  • You will provide counsel and guidance to senior leadership to assist in resolution of escalated employee relations matters.
  • You will identify, measure and manage critical metrics and SLAs to ensure people operations and services are handled consistently and timely.
  • You will oversee and manage compliance programs and create a framework to track and audit compliance requirements.
  • You will oversee our HRIS platform (currently Paylocity) and partner with other leaders to optimize our people-related technology (e.g., Lever, Microsoft)
  • You will oversee the selection and administration of all employee benefit programs (e.g. medical insurance, dental insurance, 401-K, student loan support), ensuring consistent service delivery from vendor partners who are aligned with our organization’s vision.
  • You will support and enhance our world-class professional development process and ensure our culture of transparency, clear feedback, and meritocracy are enabled through this process.

  • Talent Acquisition – building pipelines, candidate experience and yield, processes and ownership
  • Traditional HR – onboarding, compliance, policies/ handbooks, payroll & benefits administration, trust building
  • Talent Management – employee engagement, performance management and development, succession planning
  • Efficiency – change management, system design thinking, job aides and employee resources
  • Community – pairing, feedback positive culture, employee-led initiatives, continuous local and organizational engagement events and social programs -> organization pride & high retention
  • Reinforcement and incentives – compensation, total rewards, achievement recognition
Required Skills/Experience:
  • 10 years progressive experience leading a people function with experience designing and implementing an efficient and effective people operations function for a rapidly scaling organization with a geographically dispersed workforce 
  • Strong work experience across all People functional areas including recruiting, onboarding, training and development, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits
  • Exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset
  • Experience in an HR generalist capacity serving as a thought partner for senior-level leaders
  • Systems thinker who connects the dots between business needs and efficient, tech-enabled solutions. 
  • Significant depth in process improvement, optimization, and standardization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and proven experience in executing a functional strategy to drive tangible results.
  • Demonstrated success in driving large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong track record of building and growing high performing teams.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws.
  • Demonstrated passion and experience driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Multi-facility healthcare experience is preferred, though not required
  • An advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is a plus

Location:

Our preferred candidate is located in, or willing to relocate to, the Raleigh/Durham area and able to work on site in our corporate office in the Research Triangle Park area. A candidate located in other NC metros would also be considered, with some added travel expectation to come to our corporate headquarters for team meetings.

Travel Expectations:

5-10% travel to account for on site visits to our clinic locations and leadership planning/strategy sessions that can often be achieved in day or single overnight trips within NC.
