Kimmel Center, Inc. is Hiring a Business Intelligence Developer Near Philadelphia, PA

Department:Information Technology

Reports to: Manager of Business Intelligence


Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Developer will play a key role in the maintenance and further development of a high-volume ticketing system powering Philadelphia’s most renowned nonprofit institutions. The Business Intelligence Developer will be exposed to a wide array of technologies including Qlik, SSIS and SSRS that reach almost every facet of the organization. A relational database sits at the heart of these technologies which means strong T-SQL skills are essential. The Business Intelligence Developer will also serve as an analyst. Communication skills will be invaluable when coordinating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, soliciting requirements, and converting those requirements into actionable Business Intelligence solutions. This role is a unique blend of technical expertise in data analytics and a deep understanding of Tessitura, a leading CRM system for arts and cultural organizations.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain database structures, including setting up constituent records and configuring membership programs.
  • Implement customizations and enhancements to workflows and processes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop full-stack SQL queries, stored procedures, SSRS reports, SSRS automated subscriptions, SSMS scheduled jobs, and SSIS data pipelines.
  • Develop and script for Qlik Sense data modelling, dashboard creation, ETL development, end user security management, and Qlik Engine troubleshooting.
  • Develop ad-hoc data requests and analytics for senior management.
  • Provide data for auditing, quality assurance and reconciliation.
  • Provide training and support to staff members on the use of Arts Vision, Tessitura, Qlik and SSRS. This includes data entry best practices, report generation, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and maintain data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
  • Utilize reporting and analytics tools to extract actionable insights from data and provide recommendations for business decision-making.
  • Managing data imports/exports/integrations with third-party systems (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate with other systems and platforms.
  • Creation and maintenance of systems including constituencies, attributes, list criteria, special activities, etc. (including creation of reference data and import of data into systems).
  • Updating and maintaining Security rights for end users.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • T-SQL Fluency, including a strong grasp of: Joins, Aggregates, Stored Procedures, Window Functions, and Indexes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of three years of experience in Information Technology; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • Experience designing and writing enterprise level ETL processes, reports and dashboards
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills


Additional Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience designing and deploying objects in the MS BI suite (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS)
  • Experience using Qlik or similar Business Intelligence tools (Sisense, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with Arts Vision, Tessitura or similar CRM solutions
  • Strong understanding of relational and associative data models.
  • Familiar with source control systems such as Team Foundation Server, Git or similar.
  • Experience with C# .NET Technologies
  • Experience with predictive analytics and forecasts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Environment, physical demands and other conditions:

Evening and weekend work may be required. Required availability for on-call after-hours IT support rotation.
