Kimley-Horn is Hiring an Environmental Project Manager Near Phoenix, AZ

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Environmental Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental regulations, remedial system design, environmental due diligence, and site safety, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to think critically and problem solve, mentor young staff, and effective communication with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop project plans, establish project goals, objectives, and timelines, and create detailed work breakdown structures. Coordinate and manage all aspects of the project, including technical and logistical elements. Ensure project milestones are met, and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to understand project requirements and provide updates on project progress. Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent customer service and the ability to effectively address client concerns and issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and regulators, to ensure project success. Coordinate and facilitate regular project meetings, providing clear direction and guidance to team members. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to encourage teamwork and productivity.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the project and develop mitigation strategies. Implement effective risk management practices to minimize project disruptions and ensure the safety of all personnel involved.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on safety throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, conducting regular site inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with site safety officers to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and address any deficiencies. Implement corrective actions to ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, , or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Project Engineer/Geologist, Project Manager, and/or Site Safety Officer.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the design and construction of in-site treatment, groundwater extraction and treatment, free product recovery, and soil vapor extraction systems.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and deliver complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences.
  • Professional Licensure within the State applying preferred.
