Optician I General Job Description & Responsibilities The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all patients are receiving the best quality of care at all times. Primary responsibilities include: Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical chartsEducate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferencesProvide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in framesAchieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desiresManage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product varietyCommunicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issuesPerform adjustments and repairs of eyewearPlace optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits Experience & SkillsExcellent customer service skills and personal presentation are critical to this role. The ideal candidate will have 2 yrs of experience and: Good organizational and multitasking abilitiesCoachable-open to feedback and continual improvementFlexible and adaptableProfessional phone and office etiquette requiredOptical experience is preferred but not necessary-we will train the right person Other Duties & InformationPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
