The Opportunity: Expand your career with an industry-leader in the exciting and lucrative media business as an Advertising Account Manager with ConventionSouth Media Group. For over 40 years, ConventionSouth has been the leading resource for meeting and event planners who plan events in Southern US destinations. Responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively manage a territory of both new and long-term relationship accounts
  • Proactively identify new business prospects through cold calling, networking, marketing, referrals, and CRM databases
  • Exceed established revenue goals
  • Develop, maintain and grow client programs
  • Recommend appropriate solutions to help clients achieve their objectives
  • Serve as a marketing consultant by providing industry insights through up-to-date knowledge of industry trends
  • Build and maintain relationships/partnerships through continuous networking

You Are: An articulate, organized and ambitious self-starter. We are looking for an exceptional individual to handle the sales process from prospecting to closing - all the while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Post-secondary education from an accredited college/university or applicable experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a sales role for a media company, a destination (CVB), an event venue, as a meeting & event planner, or for a hospitality related organization
  • Knowledge of consultative, solution-based selling
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Superior problem solving, presentation and negotiation skills
  • PC skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and CRM software
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to multi-task, handle pressure and work under deadlines in a structured environment
  • Experience selling integrated media programs and campaigns is an asset, but we will provide training for the right candidate
