General Summary

The Assistant Controller designs and manages all financial performance reporting, including the consolidation of all domestic and foreign subsidiaries. This position is responsible for the management of the organization's monthly close and reporting requirements and helps solve problems and advise other departments on larger finance and accounting related projects.

Essential Responsibilities

• Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the department and the month end closing. Includes review of journal entries, generating reporting and preparation of the month end reporting packet.
• Responsible for the US and Canada monthly close and consolidation process by reviewing and owning the monthly consolidation and eliminations in and out of SAP.
• Work with the Controller in executing special projects or tasks. Identify and assist in the implementation of improvements to financial accounting and reporting processes and maximizing use of our financial and reporting systems.
• Ownership of the annual audit which includes preparation of the financial statements and coordination of audit and tax deliverables.
• Perform complex calculations for accruals, analysis, and support for the companies judgmental accounting entries monthly.
• Oversee and participate in preparation of all US account reconciliations and worldwide aggregations and analysis of selected balance sheet accounts.
• Understand the financial implications within the ERP systems for every process change or implementation.
• Interact with global finance and accounting staff to coordinate monthly reporting and consolidation process.
• Work with Controller on subsidiary bookkeeping issues.
• Maintain and develop global reporting and accounting policies, internal control structure and implement controls as needed and as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
• Eight (8) years progressive experience in public and/or private accounting
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience including direct supervision, hiring, performance reviews, coaching, mentoring.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Advanced Excel and Accounting/Business software skills.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• thorough understanding of business processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively under deadline pressure while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
• MBA or CPA preferred, but not required.

Travel Required

This position will not require travel.

Base Salary: $125,000 - $145,000 yearly
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
