Keck Medicine of USC is Hiring a Senior Specialist, Learning & Development - Employment & Recruitment - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union) Near Los Angeles, CA

The Senior Learning and Development Specialist will be dedicated to Keck Medicine of USC's training and development efforts. Responsible for the design, development, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive training programs that align with Keck Medicine of USC's business goals. Will work across entities and departments with internal stakeholders to conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps and recommend solutions and coordinate a broad variety of training programs. This position will assist in centralizing training and development efforts to ensure coherence and collaboration in training efforts. Possesses the flexibility to manage difficult situations and interact with all levels of staff, including executive leadership. Will also work with outside consultants and vendors as needed on training programs.

The Project Manager, Organizational Effectiveness is a key member of the Human Resources team and provides a wide range of project management and operational support. The individual will assist in the administration and coordination of a variety functions including planning, budgeting, organizing, research, and management of activities for the Associate Administrator, Organizational Effectiveness and other senior leaders of the Human Resources team. Assignments will involve coordination with a variety of HR functions and collaborating with departments or entities within Keck Medicine or at University Park Campus. This work involves organizations that are part of due diligence, integration, or additional key strategic priorities with Keck Medicine.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the design, development, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive training programs that align with Keck Medicine of USC’s business goals.
  • Develops and delivers instructional materials such as e-learning modules, new training classes and content, training guides, job aids, and cheat sheets.
  • In partnership with business leaders, project managers, change managers, and learning professionals, conduct performance analysis, analyze data and recommend solutions that supports business results.
  • Facilitates instructor-led workshops and learning events on assorted topics, such as management skills, professional skills, team building, mentoring, and cultural orientation. Responsible for timely communications with facilitators and class participants.
  • Implement and manage evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions a performance and business expectations.
  • Creates and manages training schedules and maintains and tracks training/development budget for programs.
  • Establish approach to nurture our learners through readiness programming and roadmaps enhancing experiences across all modalities and learning programs.
  • Tracks participant attendance, progress, and creates metrics associated with training programs. Monitor progress and resource utilization.
  • Be accountable to measure ROI and the effectiveness of training programs through evaluating feedback and gaining insights from learning analytics dashboards to applying new learnings to further enhance programs.
  • Organizes multiple projects with conflicting priorities, delivering the desired results and successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Act as an expert consultant to stakeholders and SMEs on the best learning and development methods.
  • Develops communications plan and materials to support learning and development initiatives.
  • Alerts appropriate team members of any changes and problems solves as needed.
  • Assists with special projects with short and long term strategic planning and oversees implementation to ensure details are executed as planned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Bachelor's degree Degree in related field.
  • Req 3 years Experience and/or sufficient previous applicable experience in hospital/healthcare environment with a major impact on learning and development programs.
  • Req Demonstrated time and organizational skills.
  • Req Excellent presentation skills to clearly convey complex blends of business and technical matters to a range of audiences. to articulate points clearly and concisely, and to negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Req Experience liaising with business groups to drive consensus on approach to training and learning activities.
  • Req Previous Healthcare training and learning experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
