Transportation and logistics company Kavkaz Express LLC is looking for anexperienced, very hands on Senior Accountant who will be working closely with the company’s leadership and other finance professionals to reconcile accounts, prepare and review quarterly and annual reports. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a company’s financial procedures, records, and statements for compliance with laws and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements, analyses, and reports
• Perform all accounting functions, including costing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Journal Entries and General Ledger
• Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, invoices, and other accounting documents
• Process payroll
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Delegate responsibilities to billing team
• Participate in internal and external audits
• Prepare federal, state, local, and special tax returns
• Maintain and coordinate implementation and development of accounting procedures
• Provide recommendations for improvement, implement and document new procedures
• Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses for management as requested
• Communicates with management concerning financial and strategic matters
• Perform other job-related duties as requested

Education, Experience and Skills:

• A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5 years of progressive hands-on accounting and/or senior level accounting experience is required
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
• Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures
• Transportation industry experience is highly desired
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, presentations, analytics, and database
• Demonstrated ability to manage, lead, and build process improvements
• Great communications skills: ability to explain budgeting and financial information in plain terms
• Ability to start from scratch on a wide range of initiatives with minimal guidance
