Kalamazoo Regional Educational Services Agency is Hiring an Application Analyst II – Special Education Systems Near PORTAGE, MI

Summary:  

Provide level II student information system support for KRESA and our partner districts. You will work closely with the Special Education department to support and expand the use of their applications. In this role you will also assist with federal and state reporting, and compliance for the KRESA Special Education Department. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide level II student information system support for KRESA and our partner districts, working tickets and support requests 
  • Provide advanced support for various Special Education, Early Childhood and regular education data systems such as PowerSchool SIS and PowerSchool Special Programs 
  • Create, maintain and provide advanced support for student information system integrations including Meal Magic, Clever, MiDataHub among others
  • Serve as MiDataHub Support Specialist and represent KRESA and partner districts
  • Process and submit state pupil count reporting (fall, spring, and end of year) 
  • Process Federal and state reporting__OCR, SID, TSDL, GAD, CRDC 
  • Analyze business processes and create efficiencies for staff 
  • Create custom SQL queries to expand system functionality and reporting 
  • Create and maintain system documentation and end user training materials 
  • Ensure HIPAA and FERPA compliance 
  • Ensure proper application security measures by utilizing and supporting SSO, MFA, etc.
  • Responsible for managing upgrade processes for applications and integrations 
  • Communicate system changes \ updates with users 
  • Develop or edit system reports and queries for end users
  • Facilitate quarterly user groups and offer training opportunities for KRESA and partner districts 
  • Work to continuously improve data quality
  • Regular and consistent attendance 
  • Other duties and application support as assigned 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree; or two years application support experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

At least one of the following certifications are required within 2 years of hire:

  •  MSBO Specialist in Education Data (SED)
  • MSBO Pupil Accounting Specialist (PAS)

Preferred Skills and Education:

  • Bachelors degree; three to five years application support experience. Special Education Experience
