A treatment facility in the Malibu area using high-quality, holistic therapy approaches for Mental Health and Addiction at Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care is seeking a Business Development Representative. The position will focus on developing referral relationships with hospitals, mental health providers, interventionists, therapists, and other referral sources for mental health and addiction recovery. The position will also take calls from prospective patients seeking admission to treatment and referral sources. This candidate will spend time working admissions calls to qualify patients for the program, articulate the benefits of the program, verify patients' the appropriateness of the patients' eligibility over the phone both clinically and financially, and schedule admissions. Candidates Will Have:
  • Experience in the behavioral healthcare industry in business development, admissions, or a direct-care position

  • An ability to work harmoniously as a part of a team with other individuals towards a common goal
  • Versatility to cold call into new relationships as well as maintain and cultivate existing relationships
  • An ability to establish relationships and become comfortable speaking with hospitals, medical doctors, psychiatrists, interventionists, Employee Assistance Programs, addiction/mental health treatment centers, and therapists in a clinical sales process
  • Ability to exercise professionalism in a manner that reflects a positive image for the organization, as well as the individual candidate, by exhibiting ethics, attention to detail, availability, dependability and a heart of service for those in need of recovery from addiction and mental health disorders

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Actively prospect, cold call (on the phone and face-to-face) continuously to expand individual's and company's contact list and brand awareness
  • Provide great customer service to patients and referral sources on admissions calls by answering questions, explaining benefits of the treatment programs and general summary of types of therapeutic models used, qualifying patients for clinical admission, and scheduling assessments/admissions
  • Provide excellent follow-up with prospects and existing relationships
  • Exemplify an attitude of service and availability for referral sources and patients being referred for treatment services
  • Observe and identify market opportunities and challenges
  • Develop, plan, implement and follow through with action plans to positively influence opportunities and challenges in candidate’s geographic area and broader behavioral healthcare landscape
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for admissions and leads into the treatment center
  • Work on-site at the facility multiple times per week
  • Represent the treatment center at local, regional and national events (conferences, trade shows, lunches, dinners and other events) as needed

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of Mental Health and Addiction experience in a business development, admissions, or direct-care role
  • Degree from an accredited university or college preferred
