An organization that provides treatment for Substance Use Disorders at Detox, Residential, and Outpatient levels of care is seeking a Business Development Director in the Philadelphia area. The organization primarily serves adults with private insurance (in-network and out-of-network), has locations in many states across the country and a large Business Development team. This position will lead a team of around 10 Business Development Representatives in the Pittsburgh area. Candidates Will Have:
Experience interviewing, identifying and coaching talented sales professionals
Ability to identify key attributes in candidates that lead to productive Business Development Representatives
Established record of sales and management success in leading a Behavioral Healthcare or Healthcare-related outside sales team
Ability to coach individuals and the team on how to establish relationships with individuals or organizations within the healthcare or behavioral healthcare industry
Experience in identifying market opportunities while developing, planning, implementing and following through with action plans to grow admissions and the overall brand of the treatment center
Flexibility in their ability to adapt the territory plan to fit the needs of the geographic market and overall landscape of the behavioral healthcare industry
Ability to exercise professionalism in a manner that reflects a positive image for the organization, as well as the individual candidate, by exhibiting ethics, attention to detail, availability, dependability and a heart of service for those in need of recovery from addiction
Principal Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight of the team of approximately 10 Business Development Representatives
Assist team members individually and as a whole on developing strategic plans for creating new business relationships and strengthening existing relationships leading to increased referrals and admissions
Participate in interviewing and hiring new Business Development team members
Provide training throughout the on-boarding period for new Business Development Representatives
Provide weekly team coaching and individual coaching to Business Development Representative team members
Travel to individual Business Development Representatives' territory to participate in meetings with Business Development Representatives and existing or potential referral sources regularly
Exemplify an attitude of service and availability for team members reporting to the Business Development Director, as well as other company team members and referral sources
Observe and identify market opportunities and challenges
Develop, plan, implement and follow through with action plans to positively influence opportunities and challenges in the Director's geographic area and broader behavioral healthcare landscape
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for admissions and leads into the treatment center
Travel to the treatment center for training, tours, periodic meetings and events as needed
Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum 5 years of business development/outside sales management experience in behavioral healthcare or a healthcare-related industry
Degree from an accredited university or college preferred
