Johnson College is currently seeking a Director of Academics. The Director of Academics is responsible for supporting the Chief Academic Officer in the oversight of all one-year academic and two-year academic degree programs and the academic vision of the College. This position plays a pivotal role in the Office of Academics in ensuring the smooth operation and enhancement of academic programs within Johnson College. This includes contributing to the leadership of new program and curriculum development, evaluating academic programs, ensuring accreditation and compliance, overseeing academic probation and dismissal, providing instructional design support, and supervising academic advising.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide leadership to academic advisors to ensure students have the tools necessary to meet their academic goals.
• Drive innovation in educational programs and modalities.
• Train faculty and adjunct instructors in the development, design, assessment, and enhancement of academic courses.
• Develop, review, and maintain articulation agreements with secondary schools and 4-year colleges and universities.
• Liaise with the Registrar’s Office in the development of academic schedules, registration activities, and evaluation of transfer credits.
• Assist in the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining institutional and programmatic accreditation.
• Assist in Perkins V program administration.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of the annual commencement ceremony.
• Represent the Office of Academics at College committees and meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain confidential information to assist in preserving the academic integrity of the institution.
• Understand and appreciate the dynamics of interpersonal relationships when working with students, parents, faculty, administration, associates, and the public.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and/or projects.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Manage student information system database to maintain student records.
• Manage learning management system to develop and assess academic courses.

EDUCATION:

• Master's degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years experience in higher education, preferably in Academic Affairs. Experience with Brightspace D2L and Jenzabar is a plus.
