Location: 1800 Orleans Street, Baltimore, MD 21287

Shift:

Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Weekend work required

Position Summary:

The Occuptational Therapist Assistant:

- Works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Team Leader and/or Inpatient or Outpatient Manager

- Implements a treatment program as established by a licensed OT which is designed to return patients with neuromusculoskeletal and/or cardiopulmonary conditions to their maximum level of function

- Rotates through assigned areas of department or may have the opportunity to focus on one service area

- Works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes

- Promotes improvement of service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care

- Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the Hospital at the site of care

Education:

Completion of an Associates Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.

Completion of an Associates Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.

Licensure from State of Maryland, Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. Current CPR certification.

Work Experience

Successful completion of clinical internships as required by academic program.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of basic social, behavioral, biological and physical science as required by academic program including but not limited to anatomy, kinesiology, electrophysiology, pathophysiology, normal development, psychology.

• Knowledge of Occupational Therapy foundation and theory, treatment techniques, research and application, leadership and management as required by the academic program.

• Knowledge of current health care environment.

• Annual completion of required departmental and/or service competency learning materials.
