Patient Care Tech - PCT - Radiation Oncology

Full Time - Day Shift - 7am-5:30pm

As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence, a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.

The Patient Care Tech is a critical part of the Patient Care Team and works in a collaborative relationship with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This certified role observes patients, provides basic nursing care, and maintains the patient environment in an outcome-oriented, safe, therapeutic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner. This position will support the Photon and Proton Centers within our Radiation Oncology department, working in clinic, rooming patients, taking vitals, starting IV's, ordering supplies etc.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience as an Endoscopy Technician with completion of Endoscopy Technician Core Curriculum training to include Steris Operator Training Course, Care and Handling of Flexible Endoscopes and Equipment, Electrosurgical Safety, and ERCP From Start to Finish.
• Candidates with one year experience as Health Care Assistant or Clinical Associate and knowledge of assisting with procedures and working with physicians may be considered for “trainee” position for up to one year while completing the required course work.
• American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification is required.
