The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works as a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) with advanced training in specific clinical skills/competencies on the health care team.

• Periodically checks patients, takes vital signs, and observes condition of the patient and patient care equipment or devices.
• Provides personal care for patient including hygiene and physical comfort measures

• Performs bedside glucose monitoring, EKG tracing, and phlebotomy
• Inserts IVs
• Measures and records intake and output
• Inserts and removes Foley catheters
• Other responsibilities as required

Minimum Education and Experience:

1. High school graduate or GED
2. Current certification as CNA in the District of Columbia
3. American Heart Association BLS/CPR required
