Joe Muer Seafood - Detroit is looking for a friendly and extroverted Bartender to join our team. We are looking for an individual who can bring their skills and knowledge of various drink recipes to our team. You will be responsible for paying attention to the detail and presentation of each order, preparing and maintaining ingredients by following recipes, and providing a pleasant drinking experience to customers. Responsibilities
- Exceptional customer service
- Assist guests; meet and exceed guest’s expectations and requests; anticipate guest’s needs
- Knows and understands the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group Mission Statement and Core Values, serving as an Ambassador to the brand
- Full knowledge of menu/bar/wine
- Describe items on the menu including ingredients used along with how it is prepared, cooked and, served
- Clearly explain chef specials and answer questions
- The ability to suggestively sell and recommend wine pairings
- The ability to suggestively up-sell according to the guests’ interest
- Communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints
- Provide guests with happy hour specials, and upcoming promotions
- Maintains positive guest relations, including greeting guests with eye contact and a smile and wishing guests a fond farewell as guests depart, and offers excellent service to ensure a memorable guest experience
- Utilizes guests’ name throughout interaction, if known
- Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant guests
- Interact with guests, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- Assess guests’ needs and preferences and offer recommendations
- Mix and serve drinks following set standard recipes
- Plan and present bar menu
- Working knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of wine, liquor beer and menu, as well as guest offerings, and accurately answers guest questions regarding all aspects of the restaurant
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Recognizes repeat and VIP customers, and anticipates their needs to provide an excellent guest experience
- Presents menus, and extends congenialities (non-alcohol and alcohol beverages), according to guidelines
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
- Uphold the integrity of Joe Vicari Restaurant Group by demonstrating ethical behaviors
Additional Requirements:
- Over 21 years of age
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Computer literacy and P.O.S. Knowledge
- Well-spoke/articulate
- Previous work experience in restaurant service
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
- Relevant training certificate (TIPS-Alcohol Awareness)
