We are a growing 10 attorney civil litigation AV rated law firm that has celebrated 22 years of practice in the greater Bay area, is looking to hire an associate or senior attorney with general civil litigation experience, experience with insurance/ commercial related defense is preferred. This practice primarily involves the representation of clients regarding commercial and personal lines claims as well as the defense of insureds involved in serious catastrophic injury litigation, truck carrier defense, complex commercial/environmental litigation, product liability/fire liability and subrogation matters, ADA litigation, employment, governmental defense and coverage litigation. This also includes defense of matters involving allegations, inter and intrastate trucking, commercial landlord and environmental liability. The attorneys in this practice group have significant litigation experience, with emphasis on trying high exposure cases.

Job Details

If you have experience in defending civil litigation matters, we are very interested in having you become part of our team. We are looking for a collaborative team member to assist with all facets of litigation. This position will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and become a valuable member of our team. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in high-stakes tort/governmental defense or commercial litigation from pre-litigation through post-trial, as well as a desire and passion to try cases to verdict. Medical/Legal experience a plus.

• Draft motions and other pleadings
• Propound and respond to discovery requests
• Court appearances, primarily in Los Angeles Superior Court
• Conduct fact and expert depositions
• Pre-trial preparation
• Client communication, including preparation for depositions and trial
• Strong academic background along with exceptional research, analytical, speaking and writing skills.
• Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
• Managing discovery, including taking/presenting witnesses for deposition
• Managing a large docket of cases from inception through trial
• Responsible for handling all aspects of litigation (fact investigation, pleadings, discovery, experts, motions, pretrial, trial, settlement and so on), and developing and maintaining strong business and client relationships.
• Demonstrate effective planning, problem-solving, analytical skills, exercise sound judgment, have the ability to prioritize workload and assignments, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Minimum of 2 years of general litigation experience
