We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in New York City. As a leading player in the commercial and residential real estate development industry, the Project Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success and integrity of our projects by managing project budgets, analyzing costs, and providing financial insights to support decision-making
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Job Details
1. Project Accounting:

• Maintain project-specific financial records, including budgets, expenses, and revenues.
• Track project costs and expenditures to ensure they align with budgeted estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze and report on project financial performance.

2. Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders and management.
• Generate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

3. Cost Control:

• Implement cost control measures to minimize project expenses without compromising quality.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to project teams.
• Monitor and reconcile project-related accounts and expenses.

4. Vendor Management:

• Manage vendor invoices, payments, and subcontractor contracts.
• Verify the accuracy of vendor bills and resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process for construction projects.

6. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal financial policies.
• Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and reports.
• Stay updated on industry-specific financial regulations and best practices.
