Our esteemed organization is on the hunt for a dynamic Accounting Manager. This position is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in our finance department, managing all accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and conformity to professional and regulatory standards. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls.
2. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
3. Manage the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
4. Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
5. Provide financial analyses, primarily for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
6. Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
7. Supervise and guide the accounting staff, fostering a well-organized and productive team environment.
8. Manage grant accounting, ensuring compliance with funding source administrative guidelines, timely receipt of revenue, accurate submission of financial reports, and proper closure of grants.
9. Implement and maintain policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting
3. Proficient knowledge of grant accounting, GAAP, and forecasting.
4. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
8. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. A proactive approach to challenges, with the ability to anticipate future issues and act accordingly.
