Description

Job Summary: Supervisor experience in managing subordinate supervisors who supervise employees assigned to the contract at the site. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Schedule: Monday- Friday, availability 6am - 8pm (times may vary). Must be available weekends/ holidays on short notice as needed. Essential Functions:
  • Supervises subordinates and coordinates activities of workers engaged in serving meals, cleaning dining rooms, washing dishes, cleaning dish washing rooms, washing pots, cleaning pot washing rooms, cleaning bathrooms, removing trash and policing the outside area.
  • Routinely checks refrigeration temperatures, reviews and approves menus, performs facility inspections and forwards reports of deficiencies to the Project Manager.
  • Performs personal hygiene inspections on an announced inspection schedule, inventories on all supplies and equipment and Quality Control inspections as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Directs and performs work assignments for various housekeeping duties; conducts inspections to check the completion of work assignments and to ensure compliance to contract specifications.
  • Responsible for the indoctrination of new employees in order to provide appropriate training.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques to perform the specific tasks the employee is assigned; Instruct employees on proper use of safety equipment issued to them.
  • Ensure employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments.
  • Monitor team activities in order to establish individual performance trends. Identify training and development needs of team members, and as assigned, train new and existing employees on proper cleaning techniques.
  • Inform Project Manager of any behaviors or incidents detrimental to our relationship with Sodexo or the requirements of the contract. Keep Pass Down Log current with details of any incident or information that the following shift supervisor and Project Manager should be aware of. Contact the project manager by telephone to inform them of an incident that requires their immediate response and follow any instructions given.
  • Interacts with Site Management on a regular basis to maintain open communications and coordinate efforts and insure attainment of mutual objectives. Notify project manager of problems and/or concerns identified by site personnel.
  • Adhere to the company rules, technical procedures and safety policies as may be communicated verbally or in writing; English.
  • Monitor all tasks to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
  • Ensure that all employees have the appropriate safety equipment and instruction on use of safety equipment in order to meet all safety standards.
  • Review all items of the Safety Orientation Form with employees on their first day of work.
  • Provide leadership to team members and present a professional image to customer and co-workers, fostering exceptional customer service skills.
  • Due to the nature of the work being performed, punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Two year certificate from college or technical school or higher. Bachelors Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Three years minimum experience managing a cafeteria or multi food service facility, including sanitation, training, security, food preparation, customer relations, menu selection, safety and accident prevention, and equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient knowledge of basic word processing and spreadsheet program applications.
  • Certification from an approved sanitation program. Serve Safe and/or PIC (Navy Food Handlers Certification). Certificate of course completion and passing for State-required Sexual Harassment Training within six (6) months of obtaining this position. Non-compliance with all or part of this section may result in demotion with possible termination.
  • Must initially pass the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), and yearly review thereafter. To be able to gain access to Department of Defense installation.
  • Willing to undergo criminal history background check requirement process.
