Position Overview: Director of Finance

We are currently seeking a Director of Finance who embodies our core values and can contribute to our vision of excellence in hospitality. As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Finance will play a crucial role in financial planning, analysis, and decision-making to ensure the financial health and success of the organization. The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our multi-store restaurant company. They will be responsible for ensuring financial health and stability across all aspects of the business, providing strategic guidance to senior management, and implementing robust financial processes and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize profitability and minimize risk.
  • Analyze financial performance metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity, optimizing working capital efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Evaluate and manage financial risks, including interest rate fluctuations, inflation and market volatility regarding cost of goods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at the store and director level to support strategic initiatives and business development opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing department, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement through data-driven analysis and financial modeling.
  • Establish strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience (10 years) in a senior finance role within the restaurant industry or related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business performance and growth.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.

Compensation Package Details:

Base Salary: $105,000-$115,000

Health Insurance: Jester Concepts contributes a defined monthly contribution amount as listed below. Three United Healthcare plans available- $1000/$2000/$4000 deductible plans

  • $600 Employee ($7200 annually)
  • $1,100 Employee-Spouse ($13,200 annually)
  • $1,100 Employee-Child ($13,200 annually)
  • $2,000 Employee-Family ($24,000 annually)

Voluntary dental/vision/life insurance: Available with premiums paid 100% by the company.

  • Employee-Spouse ($928.68 annually)
  • Employee-Child ($1,062.36 annually)
  • Employee-Family ($1,571.28 annually)

401k / Retirement: You are eligible after three months of service on the first of the following quarter. You will be automatically enrolled at 6% pre-tax with 401k program. You will have the option to change this deduction if you choose. John Hancock is the plan provider.

Jester Concepts contributes 0.50% match for each 1% employee contribution up to 6% of employee contribution for a 3% total company match.

3% Match: $3,150-$3,450 (annually)

Paid Time Off: We offer 15 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually. PTO is frontloaded on your start date and is replenished annually on January 1st. Up to 5 days of unused PTO can be carried over to the next year. Any unused PTO will not be paid out at the end of year or at the end of employment, whether voluntary or involuntary.

PTO Value $6,057.69-$6,634.62

Holidays: The following holidays are paid. If a holiday falls on the day that requires you to work, another regular scheduled workday will be provided off at management approval. Please note, given the industry, there may be occasions where a holiday will need to be worked.

If a holiday falls on your regular day off, you will not receive an additional day off in lieu of your regular day.

Dining Discount- 50% off all food/beverage at all Jester Concepts properties (Borough/Parlour, Parlour Food Truck, Parlour St. Paul, P.S. Steak, Butcher & The Boar, and Starling Edina-Coming Soon).

Dining Stipend- $50 monthly dining stipend to use at any of our locations while you are an employee. This is provided to you on a gift card which will be loaded each month. The amount does not expire while you are an employee.

Stipend Value $600 annually
