The Director of Finance - Managed Communities, is responsible for managing, implementing, and improving financial accounting systems and other administrative/business processes for multiple Managed Communities (MCs). As a key strategic member and trusted partner on the Leadership Team, this position also drives accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reporting and operational analytics which provides critical information for the successful management of company resources.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversees all aspects of reporting and accounting for communities managed by Health Dimensions Group (HDG).
  • Identifies, implements and oversees the execution of financial processes, policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable tax laws, as well as the Department of Labor and Health and Human Services regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and rights of resident, family, employee, and facility information in compliance with HIPAA policies and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensures that controls are in place to safeguard company assets, and to accurately prepare, present and complete financial statements for internal and external review.
  • Works with the Senior Leadership Team and all levels of functional management in the spirit of cooperation and continuous improvement.
  • Oversees the development of the annual budgets and periodic operational forecasts for the MCs.
  • Serves as the primary point-of-contact with external audit firm for the annual financial audit; manages tax matters including, but not limited to, coordinating with external firm on all filings.
  • Maintains the MC’s General Ledger and financial books and records.
  • Organizes and drives all closing and consolidation processes in a timely manner.
  • Oversees and directs activities for Accounts Payable for the MCs.
  • Recruits, trains and retains a high performing team that provides a professional experience for all; maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of accounting concepts, all applicable financial reporting requirements, and software required.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required
  •  Skills:
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Abilities:
    • Strong organizational abilities; must be able to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet financial deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Ability to anticipate future challenges, needs, and opportunities of the company.
  • Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 5 years of Healthcare/Senior Living Experience as a Controller for multiple sites required, including strategic finance and accounting leadership, full oversight of financial operations, audits and financial statement preparation and presentation, financial institution and investors reporting, key financial processes and systems management with team mentorship and development.
  • CPA preferred.
