Jenkins Restorations is Hiring a Vice President of Operations Near Chantilly, VA

JOB SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Operations is primarily responsible for managing operations and finances for the business, as well as providing interpersonal management and relevant outbound marketing and customer relations. This person must have an extremely good communication ability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to legislate and manage multiple aspects of the business. Responsible for direct management of Senior/District Directors and focuses on “delivering the promise” that we make to our customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS:

  • Set strategic goals, develop operational policies
  • Lead Senior Directors in planning and implementation of strategies and tactics required to fulfill company and branch objectives, particularly in assuring sales and earnings growth
  • Build and manage positive relationships with external stakeholders
  • Participate in the sales process for the acquisition of new business
  • Develop a plan for ensuring that goals are met with respect to line items below and proactively resolve issues:
    • Annual revenue (top line) – as defined in Fall Planning
    • Gross Margin – as defined in Fall Planning
    • EBITDA – as defined in Fall Planning
  • Monitor financial reports to ensure budgetary compliance with goals
  • Interface with existing clients to ensure client satisfaction and retention, particularly for escalated issues
  • Continually challenge all areas of the business to ensure functional teams are performing to the requirements of the business and the customer
  • Ensure clear and accurate operational performance reporting is in place (daily / weekly / monthly) and that the leadership team fully understands the performance of their business
  • Challenge existing practices to minimize risk and maximize delivery
  • Lead the operations function and work with the People Operations Team to ensure a pipeline of qualified people are recruited and developed to ensure the current and future needs of the organization are satisfied
  • Actively participate in the planning and development process ensuring all identified personnel within the function are suitably developed
  • Review Accounts Receivable and collections for optimal recovery of funds
  • Visit branches regularly to inspect operations and ensure compliance
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations as well as Company policy and Accreditation Standards
  • Professionally represent Jenkins in the marketplace
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and/or 12 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring and meeting quarterly and annual goals

LANGUAGE SKILLS
:

The Vice President of Operations must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization in the English language.


TECHNICAL SKILLS
:

To perform this job successfully, the Vice President of Operations should have knowledge of industry related software be able to “touch type” and be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); able to communicate via cell phone and appropriate apps.


REASONING ABILITY:

The Vice President of Operations should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the Vice President of Operations is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.

The Vice President of Operations is also regularly required to visit project sites that have incurred catastrophic events from water and storm damage. The employee must be able to carry a minimum of 50 pounds in weight for the purpose of getting material to a specific place on the project site. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is also frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.

The Vice President of Operations is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Appropriate safety equipment is furnished.
