Join our dynamic team as a Staff Accountant, where you'll play a crucial role in managing financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. As a key member of our finance team, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact by overseeing various responsibilities, including approving transfers, verifying deposits, managing premium payments, and reviewing journal entries. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity through monthly reconciliations, addressing reconciling items, and providing crucial support for tax, external auditor, and carrier auditor requests.
The Staff Accountant will work from our Phoenix, AZ office.
Responsibilities:
- Approve transfers and verify deposit in bank as well as overseeing the processing of credit card refunds
- Manages the payment of premium to carriers and agents
- Responsible for reviewing journal entries, as well as monthly bank and cash reconciliations
- Review monthly Income Statement reconciliations
- Responsible for cleaning up any reconciling items
- Prepare support for tax, external auditor, and carrier auditor requests
- Support team with response to emails from underwriters and or agents
Requirements:
- 4-year degree is preferred plus a minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, SmartView, Concept One helpful. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Detail oriented with a strong commitment to and regard for deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and organization skills.
