Primary Function:

The clinical dietitian is responsible for assessing nutritional status, providing nutritional interventions, and developing a plan of care for each patient in their service area. Clinical dietitians also serve as a resource for nutrition information for staff, patients ,families, and the community . In addition to coverage on adult acute units , this position will be responsible for nutritional coverage in the NICU unit ( level III neonatal intensive care).

This position requires providing service to one or more of the following age population(s): Infant- NICU Level III, Pediatric, adolescent, adult, older adult, and the frail elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served

Education/Training/Experience: (indicate if required or preferred)

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or related field is required. Prior healthcare experience is required. Prefer prior experience working on a NICU unit . Would consider a new graduate with an advanced education degree ( Masters) and extensive dietetic intern experience Continuing education annually to meet 5 yr/ 75 hrs CDR requirement.

Licenses/Certifications:

CDR w /The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or within 6 months of employment is required.

Member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics-preferred, Optional PA License (LDN)

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
